Soria Moria
Norwegian folk tales have always fascinated me greatly. This painting is inspired by the Norwegian painter Theodore Kittilsen and his old drawings with the same title painted in Lauvlia in Sigdal in Norway in 1900. It’s about a famous Norwegian folk tale by Peter Chr. Asbjørnsen written around 1843 about the journey to the Soria Moria castle. About princesses and trolls.
And I have also painted the Norwegian polar bear. He is from another famous Norwegian folk tale called «Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon» ( The white bear King Valemon») by Asbjørnsen & Moe.
The message in this painting is never stop believing in magic! Magical moments. Magical possibilities. There is magic everywhere.
